Yerevan, 18 September 2017 – Today three-day Pan-Armenian Forum has been started. Executive Director of European Business Association has made a speech on the EU-Armenia relations during the General Assembly.
Mrs. Sarumova has spoken particularly about opportunities, challenges and future development of trade relationship between EU and Armenia.
She mentioned that EU is the largest trade partner for Armenia and the country should use its opportunities more actively. She expressed expectations that the agreement with EU will be signed soon and new opportunities will be opened for businesses.
Main opportunities for doing business in Armenia:
Signing of agreement with EU in October
Awareness on «GSP+» and REX system
Opportunities of EEU and opening market of Iran
Using internal capacity of human capital of the country.
What important for investors now is:
Feeling safe
Having equal rights and avoid unfair competition
Overcoming corruption
Improvement of tax and customs procedures
Transparency of judicial system
Access to information
Political stability overall.
But the most important precondition for Business environment improvement is segregation of business and politics, there shouldn’t be affiliation, otherwise all above mentioned conditions don’t have a sense.
