On January 20 the European Business Association in Armenia, along with representatives from the number of NGOs and wildly known international consulting organizations involved in the Council with advisory capacity, officials from the RA Ministry of Finance, the RA Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, the RA Tax Service, attended the regular session of the Expanded Public Council of Revenue Policy Improvement Created by the Decree of the Minister of Finance.
During the Session, held by the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Davit Ananyan, the proposals of all the stakeholders in the RA Tax Code and the provisions impeding the activity of economic entities have been discussed, as well as the options of their amendments, stressing the principles of eliminating the legal uncertainties and creating effective environment for the activity of economic entities.
The EBA will make more proposals on the Tax Code. By this moment, the EBA has been actively working on the elaboration and the improvement of the legal proposals.
However, no more dramatically changes are foreseen at this time in the Tax Code, which has been already signed. Moreover, there is still room for pushing forward some changes that will make operation of businesses in Armenia easier.
Summarizing the results of the Public Council Session, it was decided to continue the discussions of the proposals directed to regulation improvements set in the tax legislation, particularly in the RA Tax Code and to discuss their results in the next session of the Council.
