Yerevan, 15 December 2017 – The Second General Assembly of the European Business Association took place.
Head of EU Delegation to Armenia and the Honorary President of EBA H.E. Mr. Piotr Świtalski, first deputy minister of the Economic Development and Investments Mr. Garegin Melkonyan have officially opened the inauguration of European Business Association General Assembly N2. The day is very symbolic for EBA due to the fact that the same representatives were conducting the ceremony of establishment of European Business Association in Armenia right two years ago together with Mr. Luc Devigne. During the opening ceremony EU-Armenia business relations as well as CEPA agreement’s importance for businesses have been also presented.
EBA Vice President Mr. George Blekas mentioned the importance of favorable business environment for the operating and new investors in the country as well as emphasized PPD activities and its role for the investment climate improvement.
Executive Director of EBA Ms. Diana Sarumova presented main results and achievements for 2017 as well as activities and events plan for 2018. She also presented financial report for 2017.
Financial Audit Report has been presented to the General Assembly as well.
New Board Members have been approved by the General Assembly: Avangard Motors (Mercedes-Benz Armenia), Coca-Cola HBC Armenia, JTI Armenia and Lactalis Arma.
Herein the following Board of EBA has been approved by General Assembly:
1. ABBC Armenian British Business Chamber
2. AIACI Armenian Italian Association for Commerce and Industry
3. CCI France Armenie French Armenian Chamber of Commerce
4. DWV German Business Association
CASOK Czech-Armenian-Slovak Chamber of Commerce assigned as an observer Board member according to the EBA Charter
5. Avangard Motors (Mercedes-Benz Armenia)
6. Coca-Cola HBC Armenia
7. Intracom Armenia
8. JTI Armenia
9. Lactalis Arma
EBA 2nd General Assembly session was followed by EBA Christmas Networking Reception with the presence of high ranking officials, representatives of EBA members and partners. The reception was marked by the European national dances, which were presented during the evening.
