1. Support to European Businesses in Armenia4>
Amount of the project – 110.000 €
Duration of the project – 24 months (October 2018- October 2020)
Project financed by European Union
Main objective of the project is development and strengthening of reforms for better business environment through improved Public Private Dialog platforms and empowering of European Business Association for advocating business rights.
During the project period EBA has organized 35 PPD meetings and events with total participation of 794 representatives of private sector;
B2B and networking/matchmaking events have been conducted by EBA for its members that 318 representatives of private sector attended.
EBA members and partners conducted 7 particular meetings for EBA members (305 attendees).
EBA staff attended more than 65 other meetings and events as invitees.

- Conducting of Public Private Dialog platforms, Round tables, conferences, B2G, B2B meetings related to improvement of business environment and investment climate
- Preparation of corresponding proposals to the Government of Armenia

2. Establishment of European Business Association

The main objective of the project was to create a new business association that will provide support to the European Business representatives in Armenia, protect foreign investors and improve business environment, as well as assist local business representatives by developing the EU-Armenia trade and business relations
The European Business Association (EBA) was founded in October 2015 under the support of Delegation of the European Union to Armenia. The EBA is a non-governmental organization that brings together more than 160 foreign and local Companies from different sectors. During five years of its active presence in Armenia, EBA has successfully supported representatives of Business Community in Armenia to improve business environment, encourage foreign investments and improve corresponding legislative framework.
The project activities:
- Registration of new association and building the network
- Market Exploratory Studies among business representatives
- Creating Public Private Dialog Platforms in Armenia
- Creating coalitions among CSOs to work together on the current business issues
- Conducting Round tables, conferences, B2G, B2B meetings related to improvement of business environment and investment climate
- Preparation of corresponding proposals to the Government of Armenia

3. Evidence-based Advocacy for Reform

The website has been created in July, 2017 in the frameworks of the “Evidence-based Advocacy for Reform” project implemented by the European Business Association, Armenian Lawyers’ Association, Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises, which in its tern has been implemented within the ”Support to SME Development in Armenia” (SMEDA) project (co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ Private Sector Development in South Caucasus Program). SMEDA is part of the EU4Business and EU4Innovation initiatives of the European Union.
www.Bizprotect.am website is a unique business sector whistle-blowing website, which enables business representatives to inform about corruption risks and other problems encountered in business, while ensuring their safety. This website uses a high-power information system for protection of reports being submitted. The combination of programs (TOR) encrypts the submitted information and therefore protects it from unauthorized interference. Whistleblowers can report anonymously.
Businesses can benefit from this website in the following ways:
1. Report on corruption risks,
2. Ask for legal advice,
3. Represent their ideas,
4. Get cognizant of news (e.g. latest legislative changes).
4. Study on major impediments for women entrepreneurs and explore women’s rights gaps in business activity of Armenia

In the scope of the Project main issues of women owned/managed enterprises in Armenia have been revealed. Obstacles have been highlighted for entrepreneurs and the corresponding proposals have been presented to the related public and private representatives to start working on its development together via different public-private platform and activities.
Several meetings and events have been conducted to present the study and discus potential ways of improvements of the main impediments for women in business.
